Sawyer

I want to remember some of the sweet and not so sweet things Saw is doing right now.

- says gaga (dada), mama, mema, nonny, more, some, done
-started dancing recently (so cute)
-randomly chews up then spits out food around the house (annoying)
-likes to get into vaseline and lotion
-scared of the bath if any piece of dirt or the occasional toe lint shows up in the water. Bubbles hide these things well I have discovered
-can bring me the color object I ask for when he wants to
-will point at several family members in pictures when asked where _____ is
-obsessed with vacuums, brooms, and mops
-in charge of feeding our dogs and does a wonderful job

That's all I can think of at the moment. I have to say he is a sweet boy most of the time and very helpful!

Pumpkin Patch & Pumpkin Painting 2011

We had to make a quick trip to Glenpool this weekend. We are selling our rent house there and had to go check out how much work we need to do to make it more sellable. That's another post all in itself! We have a ton to do! While Scott and his dad got started Janice, the kids, and I met Ashley and Jaxxi at the pumpkin patch!

The kids had fun roaming, climbing, and feeding the animals.

We spent the afternoon with Kim and Ryan.

Sawyer's nose had a little run in with the sidewalk. It looks pitiful today and to top it off he's all snotty. My stomach turns everytime I have to wipe his poor little nose.

I finally gave into Bree's multiple request to paint their pumpkins today. It did occupy a good hour so it wasn't too bad. Sawyer also painted his head. Jarrett was the cleanest painter and Bree the most creative.

I found these lovely self portraits on my phone when I was deciding what pix to post. She acts just like her aunt ash!

In 4 days I leave for Dallas! 2 kid free days and Muddy Buddy!!

This and That

I wanted to snap a photo of Bree today. This is what I got!

She has been writing and sounding out words these days. And practicing her numbers...everywhere!

And Jarrett thinks he will be a Dr. Pepper box for Halloween.

Sawyer has an obsession with markers.

He really likes to eat them! Just realize I don't have recent pics of him I haven't already shared. I'll fix that tomorrow!

Run for Shelter 5k

Another race in the books!

SPC office products sponsored Kara, Becca, Brandy, & I for this race! (thanks Cory).

I think this was my 12th race yet I still get terrible pre-race jitters. I decided to warm up for this race and jogged the mile from my house to the start. When I was almost there I got this text from my dad...(the Oct 1 text).

He's always pushing me, but that's what works, I was 25 seconds shy of his prediction.

Although my legs felt heavy the whole race I finished with a personal best of 27:05 and placed 2nd in my age group!

Approaching the finish!

This is the first race my husband has gotten to attend. Was fun to have him, my boys, my aunt and cousin cheering for me! And he snapped a pic with his phone for me.

My bling!

My favorite race shirt so far!

And a post race pic with Brandy who also got a personal best today!

And for fun...my face this year and last year same race! I look so much happier and healthier a year later! So thankful for the day my mom pushed me to start walking that has lead me to where I am now!

Long time coming

I've been waiting for ever to throw Ashley a baby shower. Not that I did it alone, because alone it wouldn't have happened. Several ladies asked if they could help host or were volunteered by someone. Thanks to Michelle, Brandy, Kirstie, Dawn, Janice, Amanda, and Yulonda for everything!

Ashley and I read lots of blogs and some of the ladies we read in Arkansas throw fancy showers for their friends. Ashley always comments on how much she loves the decor so we tried our best to rival them. Ash says we gave them a run for their money, that's all that matters to me!

One of my best friends in Glenpool made these cute cupcakes for us. Not only were they cute but they were super yummy!

See the little owl at the bottom of the center piece. Dawn Castor whipped those up for us! They were perfect and so cute!

The food table, I didn't get the best pictures but I'm sure Ashley will post better ones! Michelle made the awesome banner.

I so enjoyed seeing Ashley so happy and watching her open her gifts.

However my most favorite part of this weekend...

Loving on this little lady. She got so excited when she saw me. Maybe she does that to everyone I don't know, but this aunt loves it anyway!

Can't wait to see little missy again (you and Shane too Ash!).

Sawyer loves her too. These pics don't show all his love. He tried rolling all over her!! Hard to get a pic of that when trying to keep a 32 lb 19 month old chunk from lovingly squishing a 7 mon old itty bitty girl!

Halfway point-Marathon training

Marathon training, first of all never in a million years thought I'd use those two words so often, much less actually be training for a Marathon!

This week Michelle and I completed week 9, which is officially the half way mark. Up until Saturday we were only running distances we have conquered already although not as often as the training request we run them. Saturday was a huge milestone for us as we had to run farther than we ever have to date...15 miles. And ya know what, it wasn't as bad as I expected! Although once I stopped at 15.04 I felt as if my muscles just gave out and were like "we thought you'd never stop!". After a few minutes I felt better though! But, Michelle...well..

No she's not passed out, just stretching...in the middle of our trail!

Over the past 9 weeks I think we only had a couple training days where we didn't feel great or cut the days mileage short, but we always make it up somehow. The next 2 weeks are gonna be crazy as Michelle will be gone, luckily we were able to switch up some long mileage days and not have to stray from our schedule too much.

In 3 weeks we will conquer another mileage milestone 18 miles. (shh...don't tell Michelle but the schedule says 16, I carry the gps so we are going 18 she will never know til we are done!)

So that's my update. I know the 2nd half of training is gonna push me in so many ways and maybe even make me doubt my ability to conquer a marathon, but I'm gonna keep on running til I cross that finish line Nov 20 and get this spiffy medal!!
