Long time coming

I've been waiting for ever to throw Ashley a baby shower. Not that I did it alone, because alone it wouldn't have happened. Several ladies asked if they could help host or were volunteered by someone. Thanks to Michelle, Brandy, Kirstie, Dawn, Janice, Amanda, and Yulonda for everything!

Ashley and I read lots of blogs and some of the ladies we read in Arkansas throw fancy showers for their friends. Ashley always comments on how much she loves the decor so we tried our best to rival them. Ash says we gave them a run for their money, that's all that matters to me!

One of my best friends in Glenpool made these cute cupcakes for us. Not only were they cute but they were super yummy!

See the little owl at the bottom of the center piece. Dawn Castor whipped those up for us! They were perfect and so cute!

The food table, I didn't get the best pictures but I'm sure Ashley will post better ones! Michelle made the awesome banner.

I so enjoyed seeing Ashley so happy and watching her open her gifts.

However my most favorite part of this weekend...

Loving on this little lady. She got so excited when she saw me. Maybe she does that to everyone I don't know, but this aunt loves it anyway!

Can't wait to see little missy again (you and Shane too Ash!).

Sawyer loves her too. These pics don't show all his love. He tried rolling all over her!! Hard to get a pic of that when trying to keep a 32 lb 19 month old chunk from lovingly squishing a 7 mon old itty bitty girl!

Halfway point-Marathon training

Marathon training, first of all never in a million years thought I'd use those two words so often, much less actually be training for a Marathon!

This week Michelle and I completed week 9, which is officially the half way mark. Up until Saturday we were only running distances we have conquered already although not as often as the training request we run them. Saturday was a huge milestone for us as we had to run farther than we ever have to date...15 miles. And ya know what, it wasn't as bad as I expected! Although once I stopped at 15.04 I felt as if my muscles just gave out and were like "we thought you'd never stop!". After a few minutes I felt better though! But, Michelle...well..

No she's not passed out, just stretching...in the middle of our trail!

Over the past 9 weeks I think we only had a couple training days where we didn't feel great or cut the days mileage short, but we always make it up somehow. The next 2 weeks are gonna be crazy as Michelle will be gone, luckily we were able to switch up some long mileage days and not have to stray from our schedule too much.

In 3 weeks we will conquer another mileage milestone 18 miles. (shh...don't tell Michelle but the schedule says 16, I carry the gps so we are going 18 she will never know til we are done!)

So that's my update. I know the 2nd half of training is gonna push me in so many ways and maybe even make me doubt my ability to conquer a marathon, but I'm gonna keep on running til I cross that finish line Nov 20 and get this spiffy medal!!

Stamps and Letters

Today at the post office we got Disney Pixar Stamps. Jarrett wanted to use them badly, so I suggested he write his cousin a letter. We got home and he found paper and crayons. He sat at the table and scribbled then said let's mail it. I wrote a little note to Ryan on the page, put it in an envelope, and Jarrett chose a stamp.

He was so excited to put it in the mailbox and raise the red flag.

Hopefully Ryan will love his letter!!
