This, that, and the other...

Bree woke up with fever this morning. I didn't even know it until I was helping her get dressed and she was on fire. She was very upset to miss school. Her lymph nodes/glands are pretty swollen, she talks funny, and her little nose is like a faucet. She was pretty pitiful all day. She and Jarrett did play with moon sand while I ran in the treadmill.

We have had dozer for about 6-7 weeks now. Today he is finally going outside when I tell him to with out me having to pick him up and put him out! I am so thankful because he is huge already!

Now I have to get him to go to his crate when I say. And next week I plan to start training him to run with me.

I have started training for a 10k I have coming up in April. I'm following a program on an app I have. I also added a new workout in with my running and shredding. It's Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack. Now I don't plan on a 6 pack but I do hope to lose some of the flab on my tummy!

Anyway that's what's up with us. No I didn't forget Saw, he's just an ornery little stinker lately. And will be 1 in less than 1 month!

Sawyer 11 months (late)

Sawyer was 11 months on the 15th. He's getting so big!

Fun things about Sawyer right now:

-feeds himself his bottles (finally)
-eats anything and everything he can get hold of
-finally sleeping through the night again
-4 teeth with more working their way in
-pulling up and cruising a lot
-jabbers but no actual words yet
-plays very well on his own
-loves his brother and sister to pay attention to him
-finally likes our puppy and will crawl over and pet and love on him
-so curious gets into everything
-will crawl at warp speed to get in the fridge anytime it is opened

My baby will be 1 February 15. I'm so happy he is growing, but this age is so fun watching him learn and explore I wish I could freeze time just a bit!

Bones and Power

Breeana has started asking me random questions about God and Jesus lately. I love that she asks questions. I want to remember a couple recent ones, my answers, and her responses.

While she was taking a bath tonight. "Mom, does Jesus control us?"

I began to try and answer her question on a 4 almost 5 year old level. I did my best telling her Jesus gives us freedom to make our own choices, that we should read our bibles and pray for wisdom to make good choices. She then said "but I can't see Jesus to ask him". So I started talking to her about faith. She interrupted me wiggling her arms around and said "well mom I think our bones control us!".

Apparently she was talking about controlling our movement not our choices. I got a great teaching moment anyway, hopefully she heard and understood some of what I said!

This week after getting her from school she says "mom, God made everything out of nothing right?". I said "yes". She said "but how if there was nothing?"

Now she has asked this question before. I thought I had satisfied her with my previous answer. I tried to quickly find words to answer her again but in a way she could understand better. As I was stumbling over my words she says, "probably he just used His power mom!"

I forget that children have that "child like faith". They don't need long drawn out articulated answers. They just need the basics. It was by His power! If only I were satisfied with simple answers! So with this question Bree became the teacher reminding her momma to have faith like a child!

"it's a summery day"

Says Bree!!

We took advantage of the sunshine and spurt of warmth and headed to the park today.

Sawyer was content in his stroller. I let him swing but he didn't care for that much.

We played on the little kid play ground and then took a walk around the pond. Bree and Jarrett wanted to play on an old metal slide that was along the way.

Bree was good at stopping herself so she wouldn't slide into the mud at the bottom.

Then there's Jarrett...

He had to haul sticks up the ladder every time and let them slide first.

And then he would slide.

Head first of course!!!

We enjoyed the fresh air and just being outdoors!

Lose it - Week 1

The past 7 days have been ok. I quit drinking pop (again), started counting calories (which I hate), started running again (on the treadmill which I hate), and I have committed to do the 30 day shred the entire 30 days.

So, why do these things that I hate? Results!!! I'm down 5 lbs and 3 1/2 total body inches in 7 days. Yes I eat, 1000-1200 calories a day. I'm sure the weight loss will slow down, most is probably due to cutting pop from my diet.

If you have an iPhone check out the lose it app! It's free! If no iPhone you can go to lose it on the web.

Can't hardly wait to take new pictures on Feb 6!

I decided since I'm working on my physical self I needed work on my spiritual self too. I've committed to memorize the book of Colossians this year. This should be interesting. I'm starting a week behind, but I know I can do it. Funny how running seems easier than memorizing a couple verses a week.

Jan 6 2011

Ashley texted me Wednesday about an app called LoseIt. She was doing it and asked me to get it to help keep her accountable in her weight loss. I'm working on losing weight anyway so I told her I'd do it. Brandy is doing it with us. Anyway as if that wasn't enough...I got this idea we should take pictures of ourselves and then take them again on 30 days to see how our bodies change. I always have great ideas open my mouth and then I have to do them (ask my running partner Michelle :) she knows this too well). At least I never have to do my ideas alone!!!

So here are my pictures. I have to say it's embarrassing to post these, but it'll make me work even harder!

Jan 6 2011 189.5 lbs

I'll post new pictures Feb. 6!

Sickies

Breeana and Sawyer had some sort of fever sickness from Christmas eve until about Tuesday after Christmas. They were on antibiotic for ear infections so I assumed it was viral. I took Jarrett to the doctor Dec 30 for a red eye. He got antibiotic for his ears and drops for pink eye. Then the fever sickness hit Jarrett and I hard New Years Eve. I went to the doctor today. He said it's likely viral but prescribed me a zpak just it case. Hoping Jar and I are better soon and I can rejoin the land of the living. And I hope we are finished with sickness for a little while!!!
