Did you hear my Baby Brother and Ash are having a baby??

First a little background info...

Last year on Nov. 3rd I found out I was pregnant with Jarrett. My first thought was "I can't believe I am pregnant." and my second was "How do I tell Shane and Ashley?" You see they had been trying to have a baby, and at that time in my life my hearts desire was for them to get pregnant, not me. (Don't get me wrong I wanted another baby, but I was praying more for Shane and Ashley to conceive, not myself.) According to doctor's Shane and Ash would not be able to conceive so this made it even harder for me to tell them. Part of it was b/c I was in their shoes for 4 years before Scott and I got pregnant with Bree. The only difference we were never told we couldn't conceive, it just took 4 years. So in part I knew what they would feel, I was scared because I didn't want them to be angry with me as I had been with some people when Scott and I were trying for a baby, and hoped they would know how my heart was hurting through my joy. I waited a couple of days and then Ashley and I were at my mom's house and I knew I had to tell her. I remember it very clearly even to this day. Ashley was at the computer and I walked into the room and said "Ashley I have to tell you something"...and then I starting crying, not just crying sobbing as I told her my news, that was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my entire life. To my shock she jumped up and hugged me and said she was so happy for me threw tears of her own. I knew that she truly was and yet she was hurting at the same time as was my brother. I made a commitment at that moment to pray everyday for God to bless Shane and Ashley with a baby. And in the mean time I was more than happy to share my babies with them.

Now for the fun part....

Thursday almost exactly a year after I had to tell them I was pregnant, I got to be with Ashley when she found out she was pregnant and hug her and cry with her tears of joy instead of sadness! And then watch my brother fumble threw a bag of baby stuff wondering what the heck was going on and then reading a note at the bottom that said "Your going to be a daddy!" and then burying his face in his hands trying to not let us see him cry! I know they are going to be wonderful parents to the little peanut growing inside of Ashley and I can't wait to spoil my little niece or nephew and then send them HOME!!!! Shane and Ashley paybacks are coming!!!!

I often wonder why God orchestrates events in our lives the way He does, but who am I to question God. God has a purpose for everything that happens, although we may never know what it is until we look back a few years later and then again we may never know. All I know is a miracle baby, that I already love so much, will be born sometime in the first week of July, and I can't wait to meet him/her!

Congratulations Shane and Ashley, I love you both!

God you are an Awesome God! I praise you for the miracle of life! Father wrap Your loving arms around Shane and Ashley's precious baby as he/she grows and forms inside of Ashley. Calm any fears or worries they may have so they can truly enjoy what is taking place in their lives. Thank You so much for answering my prayer!

Amen

Brother and Sister Love

Jarrett has started eating veggies. His first was squash which he loved as you can tell from the picture below. Next we moved to green peas, which he loved. This is new territory for me. Bree would only eat like 2 bites of everything we fed her and she still doesn't eat much at all. Jarrett on the other hand would eat an entire step one container if I would let him. Which brings me to my question of the day for all of you mommies out there. Exactly how much baby food should I let him eat? The whole container, half, I am baffled, only because Bree was not an eater so I didn't have to think about it. We do veggie at lunch and cereal around 7 or 8. Any opinions or advice is welcomed! He turned 4 months old on Sunday by the way :) !

Now the original intent for this post. This morning when Jarrett got up, I changed him, fed him, burped him, and then put him on the floor to play with his toys. I asked Bree to "talk" to him. As I was unloading the dishwasher I heard, "I'll be right back brother..." her feet pitter patter down the hall and in a few seconds back up the hall...then SILENCE...this is usually scary so I go in the living room and find.........

This is how she babysits.....she becomes a baby too!!! They laid there together for like 10 minutes so no complaints from mom who got the kitchen all clean!

And now for a new trick courtesy of Aunt Ash who let her do this Thursday night. Bree came to me and told me Jarrett was awake from his nap. I finished up whatever I was doing and headed to his room only to find...

Bree in bed with Jarrett. The are so darn cute together smooching on each other!!! She did it again after his next nap, but this time moved him all around and probably would have tossed him out if I hadn't made it to his room when I did, so now this is a NO NO!

UPDATE

So I was scrolling through my old posts and came across the "Oh Brother, Why do you cry so much?" post and thought I should update on him. This is mostly for me. but you can read if you want!

So the "training" was working a little, but not enough to satisfy mom. So at my mom's class pj party Ashley was talking to Sally about Jarrett. (how dare his aunt talk about him crying all the time!!! j/k) and Sally mentioned that Mandy put her boys on Soy milk. Well this made me think...watch out!!! Scott was on Soy when he was a baby...maybe that is our problem. So I put him on Enfamil Gentlease the very next day. (this is soy and milk broken down. I am always trying to get more for my money and well soy is $2.00 higher and you get like 2 oz. less so I was trying it first). It pretty much worked instantly. The nursery even said he is doing so much better, like a new kid. Wish I would have thought of it sooner.

He still throws a good fit at least twice a day, usually when he is tired. He won't take a binky, I think b/c his frenulum (sp?? the thing that holds the tongue underneath) needs clipped...we get that checked on Nov. 13. I think this also causes him to have a hard time taking his bottle at first...he gags until it gets in his mouth just right, especially when he is mad.

Anyway that is that!!! Mommy is happy, boy is happier...it is a good thing!!!

"Wike a Baby Jammer's"

As Bree would say! We were at Wal-Mart yesterday and Bree saw a pair of jammies she just had to have. She said, "I want those wike a baby jammer's mommy." I got them for her, but was unsure she would wear them. I was wrong! She loves them and now I don't have to worry about her being cold at night and recovering her all night long. Nonny got her a new pair today and a pair of way cute purple boots...but that is another post!!!

Wii Fit

So when I was in Glenpool a couple weeks ago I went to a friends house and they happen to have a Wii Fit. I tried it out and kinda liked it. We have a Wii and it just sits on the shelf b/c Scott prefers to only play his PS3. I decided I would get one. I played with it for the first few days with Ashley and then we went out of town. Today I have made a commitment to do the Wii Fit at least 30 minutes everyday. Each day you do a fitness test and it lets you know your BMI (mines pretty scary) and your weight (that is scary too!). Anyway, you can set goals and it keeps track of them. It is a fun way to work out. If you have a Wii you should get one!! Since I got it a week ago I have lost a whoppin' 1 lb. but that is better than gaining it!!! I will post every Monday how much weight I have lost or gained. My goal before November 20th it 10 lbs we will see if it happens or not.

A few details on the Wii Fit. You can do Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. I think it is good for me b/c when I exercise I push myself to the extreme as to not be out done and then I don't want to do it ever again. With the Wii Fit you have to unlock new challenges, exercises, and the amount of reps you can do, so you build up to more difficult exercises. That way I don't over do it all at once.

That is all for now, I have a wonderfully funny video of Ashley Hoola Hooping on the Wii Fit but I value my life to much to post it!!!:)

Baby Carly, Horses, and Turkeys Oh My!!

Mom, Ash, the kids and I headed to Paden Thursday evening. We went for my Nan's Birthday, she turned "29" again! And my mom was going to help her sisters clean out a room for my Great Grandpa, so Ash and I went along for the ride.

My Pa (Mom's Dad) is always getting into new things. He has always had cows. About a year ago he decided to go in the goat business....I think it failed and now he has moved on to having chickens, turkeys, horses ( 6 of the), and steers (about 25) to rope. He is also in the process of building an arena. I personally think he has too much time on his hands since retirement!!! Who knows what will be next. Bree hasn't decided if she likes Pa that much or not....he is very loud...and he is determined for her to like him. They fed Turkey's together and gathered chicken eggs.

He saddled up a horse just for her to take a little ride. Nonny had to get on with her. Bree didn't want to get off. She kept saying "Lead us around again Pa."

Jarret hung out with the newest member of our family Baby Carly. She is 2 or so months old and is a little sweetie!!!

We had fun and I was glad to get away for a couple of days and rest, but I am happy to be back home! I leave you with a pic of me and my favorite little guy!!! Do you think he looks like me??

Pumpkin Patch 2008

We visited the pumpkin patch today in Bixby, OK. Breeana had so much fun, Jarrett on the other hand, well he was Jarrett. Wasn't interested in being thrown in a pile of pumpkins, but neither would I with limited head support and my head bashing into an orange thing bigger than myself!

Here a a few pics I managed to snap of my cuties!!!

This is Bree with her cousin Kimmy!
Jarrett and Ryan getting ready for the OU vs. Kansas Game...we WON by the way!!!

God is SO Good!!! Enough Said!

Just feel the need to post this Scripture today!

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Oh Brother, Why do you cry so much?

Some of you may or may not know that my little man loves to cry and cry and cry, sometimes even when he is getting what he wants. (That would be mommy holding him and walking around). Well, this mommy is tired, beyond tire, more like exhausted with all the crying. So upon my mothers advice (how I hate to admit that my mom is right) I have begun "training" him for lack of a better word. How am I doing this....well we start in the bouncy seat...when he starts crying after a few minutes, I move him to his boppy on his tummy, when he tires of this, I move him to the swing, and so on. Also when he is done with playing if I am holding him and he continues to cry, I put him down and go about my business while he has a little temper tantrum. After a few minutes I pick him up again, if he doesn't stop the fussing, back down he goes. After a couple times he realizes that mommy will hold him if he stops fussing. This has allowed me to sit and rock him to sleep for the first time in weeks.

Anyway we have only been in this routine for a day now, but it will continue. I am more rested, he is crying less and less. So Mother you were RIGHT!!!

Hopefully he will start being better for our nursery workers, I feel horrible leaving him (not so much for his sake) but for the workers who have had to deal with his tantrums and crying! Anyway, if anyone out there has anymore advice that could help little man and his momma feel free to comment and I will take it or leave it :)!

Not so much going on around here these days. Here are a few pics of Bree and Jarrett I took a week or so ago. Anytime Jarrett is playing in the floor Big Sister has to join in.

They love each other!

Here is Jarrett ready for church on Sunday. I took pictures of Bree almost every Sunday from Birth to 1 yr. I am a bad mom, Jarrett is 3 months and this is his first going to church picture!

He's a little cutie!

Help Needed!!!

If you don't know Ashley and I started teaching the 2 year old Sunday School class last Sunday. It was alot of fun, but I must say the kids are not used to sitting for a story, doing activities, waiting for snack time, instead of crackers the whole time etc. they just want to play constantly with no structure. I know that at that age they learn through play, which is where you may come in. This Sunday and the whole month of October we are learning about the bible. The lesson plans call for a keyboard or a typewriter. I do not have either of these. If any of you blog readers Mandy, Sally, Kara, Becky, Hilary, etc. happen to have an old keyboard laying around, a typewriter, a kids laptop, or a real laptop that doesn't work that we could borrow please let me or Ashley know. If not I will figure something out.

Thanks!
