Christmas #2 2009

Scott text me on his way home from work this evening and said "let's do Christmas with the kids tonight." I figured it was a good idea as we will be heading out to have Christmas with his parents sometime this week. We made the choice this year to set a smaller budget for the kiddos gifts and stick with it. They just get so much year round and from my parents, Scott's parents, aunts & uncles, etc. that I found it silly to go overboard this year or in the years to come for that matter. There were fewer presents to unwrap, but they didn't seem to mind and really enjoyed playing with their new stuff without feeling overwhelmed!

NOTICE THERE ARE HARDLY ANY ORNAMENTS ON THE BOTTOM FRONT OF MY TREE. I GAVE UP A WHILE BACK TRYING TO KEEP IT "PRETTY"! I HAD INTENDED TO PURCHASE BULBS AND A FEW MORE ORNAMENTS TO MAKE IT LOOK BETTER, BUT DECIDED IT WAS POINTLESS IN THE SEASON OF LIFE!

I guess Jarrett got in some good practice opening gifts at my parents house. He ripped right through them. He opted to stand on his new stepstool/tool set to open a few gifts. Here he is pointing out Mickey on his new shirt!

Breeana is infatuated with the movie "Cars" She is wearing a Cars shirt I gave her early a few days ago. And she got a Mack truck as one of her gifts. She already has, Mater, Lightening, Chix, etc. She LOVES them!

However, she also switches gears and becomes a little girly, girl! This next picture for me is priceless! She was with me one day and I was picking up some gifts for her cousins. I grabbed two of the Barbie and Bike combos and put them in the cart. Nosey as she is, she asked me who the second one was for. I said, Oh another girl who needs a gift! When she opened it tonight her face lit up and she said "I'm the other girl mommy! Thank-you!"

We had fun together and the kids enjoyed playing with their new toys. Bree and I talked about how presents and Santa are fun, but Jesus being born just for us is what really makes Christmas special, she agreed with me!
Since I won't blog again til after the 25th, Hope you all have a safe, fun, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Jarrett looks like a big boy in that first picture! Bree's comments are always entertaining! Have a great Christmas!

I agree-less is more when it comes to Christmas gifts for the kids. They appreciate the things more that way, in my opinion. Love that Bree loves Cars like Rhett-and the pic of her and what she said is SOOOO sweet! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Cute kids! I came over from Sarah's blog. I think I recognize them from the endless photos she has edited at my house. Looks like your Christmas was great. We downsized on Christmas too. You can check that out at my site, if you wish!
